Jesus was a Jew, and because of this, he would’ve had a kosher diet. The kosher diet is a diet that can be found in the Old Testament. Most of it can be found in Leviticus 11. The kosher diet really focuses on two things, first animals, and which ones we can and can. It describes this as clean animals and unclean animals to eat.

Get easy, clean animals fall into two camps. Either land animals that have split hoofs and chew cut grass, or they’re sea animals that have both fins and scales. What that really means is we can cows but not pigs. As for animals of the seas, we can eat salmon, but not. That’s where this whole concept of clean and unclean animals comes from.

So the second part of the kosher diet really focuses on the process of eating foods. The two main ones here are there are certain parts of the body we shouldn’t be eating and we shouldn’t eat meat with. So eating a cheeseburger is technically not kosher because you are eating meat with cheese. Research shows that the kosher diet also has some really good health benefits.

Health Benefits of Eating Kosher

A study published in the Journal of Religion and Health says that the kosher diet has led to lower levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood and can also reduce the risk of heart.

The Kosher diet and the Mediterranean diet combined is what I believe Jesus would’ve eaten.

What did Jesus Eat Conclusion

While following these two diets together may not be for everybody. The positive effects on your health and well-being can not be understated. The key takeaway I want you to have here though is to remember that your body is a temple for God and that you should treat it that way. So make sure to eat things that benefit it to its full.

Jesus was born in a time of limited food resources. This meant that his diet likely consisted of grains, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products. As Jesus traveled around the country preaching, he likely ate foods such as fish, figs, olives, nuts, and honey. He also enjoyed sweet wine when it was available to him. In general, it’s safe to say that Jesus ate a healthy and diverse diet during his time on Earth.
